Amanita Design from Brno are famous for the characteristic style of their adventure games. They have been able to stamp their unique signature on each of their past games. They were mostly light-hearted adventures where you could fool around without any sinister thoughts. The last gem from the studio's workshop, the logical Creaks, was at least partly released in such an unconventional style, but we did not expect that Amanita's next venture would ride on darker waves.

The ironically named Happy Game is in charge of Jaromír Plachý, the creator of Botanicula and Chuchel, and with it he goes into the world of nightmares. The developers themselves describe the upcoming game as a psychedelic-inspired horror. From the new trailer, which was released as part of the E3 game conference, you will probably understand why.

In Happy Game, you will help a little boy escape from terrifying nightmares. You will find optimistic residents in those, but they will not stay in the same mood for very long. The contrast of the initially innocent visuals with the subsequent rebirth in goosebumps driving horror should be the main attraction of the game. Atmosphere is a strong point of all Amanita projects, so we have no doubt that the Brno studio can cope with even an unusual challenge for them.

After all, you can try how the developers manage to grasp the ghostly substance right now. You can download Happy Game as a demo version right now from Steam. We could have expected the full version of the game this spring when it was originally announced, but unspecified difficulties pushed it to the fall.
