Every day, in this column, we will bring you a more detailed look at a selected application that has just caught our attention. Here you will find applications for productivity, creativity, utilities, but also games. It won't always be the hottest news, our goal is primarily to highlight apps that we think are worth paying attention to. Today we take a closer look at Guides by Lonely Planet.

Summer is not over yet, and many of us will be traveling to interesting locations around the world in the coming days. Web encyclopedias, blogs or even online maps undoubtedly offer a range of interesting and useful information about practically every corner of our planet, but a comprehensive guide will certainly be appreciated by many of us. An established name among guides is, among others, the Lonely Planet edition, which in addition to popular printed publications also offers its own app for iOS devices.

Guides by Lonely Planet offers everything the average traveler expects from a guidebook. You can download offline maps before your trip, and within the application you will also have detailed information about the sights of your chosen city, as well as where you can stay, eat or go shopping.

A currency converter, a phrasebook in (so far) eighteen languages, or perhaps an overview of the history of a given city or an overview of its districts are also useful. You can save the selected locations in bookmarks for easier finding, useful tips are available in the application for each of the cities.
