Last year, a new type of USB began to be more prominent. USB-C is supposed to be the port of the future, and if all goes according to plan, it will indeed sooner or later replace the current USB 2.0/3.0 standard. Apple and Google have already begun to integrate it into their computers, and various peripherals and third-party accessories are also beginning to appear, which are also necessary for faster adoption of the new type of connector.

One of the very interesting accessories, especially for new owners 12-inch MacBook now at CES presents Griffin. His BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power Cable returns the "safety" MagSafe connector to even the thinnest Apple notebook, which prevented possible falls while MacBooks were being charged.

However, since the previous charging port did not fit into the 12-inch MacBook, the popular MagSafe had to go because of USB-C. When charging, the MacBook is just as susceptible to accidentally dropping the machine by tripping over the connected cable, as it is not connected magnetically.

The latest venture from Griffin should solve this problem. The BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power Cable has a magnetic connector, so it disconnects when you touch it. The connector has a depth of 12,8 mm, so it has no problem staying plugged into the laptop, even if it is not currently in use.

Griffin also supplies an almost 2-meter-long cable that easily connects to the USB-C charger that comes with every laptop, not only the MacBook, but also, for example, the Chromebook Pixel 2. The price of this magnetic accessory will be around 40 US dollars (approx. 1 CZK). and should go on sale in April. We do not yet have information about availability in the Czech Republic.

However, Griffin presents the world not only with the gadget mentioned above, but with many other USB-C products. These are both adapters and cables, as well as classic chargers, car chargers and audio products. All of these products should hit the market later this year.
