Google had yesterday, a few weeks after the big one Apple's September keynote, his own presentation in which he presented new products. Many of them are also direct competition for Apple's new products - namely Nexus phones and the Pixel C tablet. A new version of the Android 6.0 operating system, called Marshmallow, was also introduced.

Google Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P

As far as Nexus phones are concerned, Google has prepared two novelties, which have already been known about from leaks for a long time. They are labeled 5X and 6P, where 5X represents the middle class, 6P is Google's flagship. However, he does not make smartphones himself, others traditionally do it for him.

Za Nexus 5X costs LG, which produced a device with a 5,2-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution. The Nexus 5X will be offered in three colors – black, white, “ice blue” – and two sizes, 16GB or 32GB.

Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 808 chip with 2 GHz per core and Adreno 418 graphics. The Nexus 5X has 2 GB of RAM and a battery with a capacity of 2 mAh could provide a fairly decent endurance.

LG, in cooperation with Google, cared about the quality of the camera. Even the smaller Nexus 5X will offer 12,3 MPx and laser focus with a dual diode for illumination. Unfortunately, just like the iPhone 6S, the Nexus 5X does not offer optical image stabilization. The front camera has 5 megapixels.

You'll also find an all-new fingerprint reader on the back of both new Nexuses. Under the camera we find the so-called Nexus Imprint, which Google uses to attack Apple's Touch ID and other competitors. Just like on iPhones, it will be possible to easily make purchases via Android Pay with Imprint on the new Nexuses, and of course you can also unlock the phone with your fingerprint.

Google says the new Nexus takes 600 milliseconds to recognize a fingerprint. In addition, this data will improve as you use the reader. However, the question is whether Google can compete with the latest iPhone 6S, in which Apple made Touch ID really lightning fast.

Among the new technologies, Google also bet on the USB-C connector for synchronization and charging, which should probably become the standard among connectors in the coming years. After all, even Apple has already deployed it, but so far only in 12-inch MacBook. An interesting feature of the new Nexuses are the stereo speakers on the front, which are supposed to ensure a better music experience.

In the United States, the Nexus X5 starts at $379 for the 16GB variant, which is a little over 9 crowns. In Europe, the price will definitely be several thousand higher, however, it is not certain when the phone will also reach the Czech Republic. November is speculated.

Larger Nexus 6P he has a lot in common with his little brother. However, unlike LG, it is manufactured by the Chinese Huawei and it is the first ever all-metal Nexus. The display with Super AMOLED technology has a diagonal of 5,7 inches and a WQHD resolution (518 PPI). Against the 5X, the 6P also has Gorilla Glass 4, which is one generation newer.

In the case of the processor, the more powerful Snapdragon 810 was chosen in the latest revision 2.1, where overheating of the chip should be solved. The processor runs at a clock rate of 1,9 GHz and the graphics are Adreno 430. The processor is supported by 3 GB of RAM and the battery has a respectable capacity of 3 mAh. The main camera is the same as in the case of its smaller colleague, but the front camera has jumped to 450 MPx resolution.

The price in the United States starts at more than 32 dollars (499 crowns) for the 12GB model, but the Czech prices and availability in the Czech Republic are again unknown. The Czech representative office of Huawei has not yet disclosed more detailed information.

Google Pixel C tablet

New tablet Pixel C it is primarily meant to compete with Microsoft's Surface tablets and Apple's new iPad Pro. The Pixel C also has an attachable keyboard, so the tablet can easily become a device capable of competing with laptops. Only in it, unlike Windows in the Surface and iOS in the iPad Pro, you will of course find the Android operating system.

The Pixel C display has a diagonal of 10,2 inches with a resolution of 2560 × 1800 pixels. The device is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor, which is an interesting move on the part of Google, since NVIDIA has not appeared in any device for a long time, and it seems that the ground has fallen after it. The tablet also has 3 GB of RAM and will be offered in memory versions of 32 GB or 64 GB.

Unlike previous Nexus tablets, the tablet has a metal body, along with a USB-C connector and a Light Bar, which is a group of LEDs indicating the battery status.

The keyboard will be attached magnetically and will allow you to tilt the tablet to an angle of 100 to 135 degrees. At the same time, it has its own battery, but lacks a touchpad. Google promises up to two months of battery life on a single charge. Also, the Pixel C starts at $499, and you can pay another $149 for the keyboard. Again, even with this new product, its availability in the Czech Republic is in the stars.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

On Tuesday, as expected, Google also introduced a new version of its Android operating system called Marshmallow. You would practically be indistinguishable from the current Android 5.1.1 graphically, as Google optimized the system mainly in the background to make it work better.

But several new features have appeared, such as a modified application menu, which now moves your most used applications to the top. In turn, the battery indicator will announce when the phone should be charged to its maximum state. The new version of Android should also bring welcome changes in battery life, where the estimated savings should be around 30%.
