After several months of testing Google he announced, that its Chrome Apps now work on Macs as well. Chrome Apps behave like native Mac applications, they can be used even without an Internet connection, they are automatically updated and synchronized across computers where the user is logged in to the Chrome browser...

Although the Chrome browser must be installed because it is necessary for Chrome Apps to work, the apps themselves already work outside of it. Chrome Apps are downloaded to disk, placed in a folder with other apps, and work like any other native app. They also have access to local storage to work offline. This is a major difference against standard Chrome Apps.

Along with the new application, the Chrome App Launcher will also be installed, which will sit in the dock, and through it you will have quick access to all Chrome applications, whether online or native. If only to open the App Launcher grid, you need to have the Chrome browser turned on (it turns on automatically), but native applications then open in their own window.

V Chrome Web Store you'll find various applications that you can use natively on your Mac. Well-known ones include, for example, Wunderlist, Any.do or Pocket, but there are also several games and video editing applications.
