Google has updated Maps on all available platforms. The main changes concern the graphic processing of maps.

Of course, all changes relate to transparency. In this regard, Google's decision to weaken the high street highlighting may seem paradoxical at first. They remain thicker and different in color, but they are no longer so obvious. Thanks to this, it should be easier to find your way around the map at first glance, because the context of the main street is not shaded and it is easier to identify individual buildings and side streets.

Orientation is also improved by changes in the font of the names of streets, cities and town districts, important objects, etc. - they are now larger and more prominent, so that they do not blend in with the rest of the map content. In order to read them, it is not necessary to enlarge the map so much, and the user can keep a good overview of the surroundings even on a smaller display.

A new element is the orange-shaded "areas of interest", which contain places such as restaurants, bars, shops, public transport stops, etc. Google uses a combination of algorithms and "human touch" to locate such areas, so that even the places are not very rich in a given type of objects just completely orange.

The use of colors in Google maps has also been adjusted on a general scale. The new color scheme (see the attached scheme below) is not only intended to appear more natural, but also to make it easier to distinguish between natural and man-made objects and to identify places such as hospitals, schools and highways.
