Has the Apple vs Google war begun? Or is everything continuing as planned and Google is just implementing what was agreed upon? Since the release of the first iPhone, Apple has bet on cooperation with Google and they have helped each other in their business. But no one can say if this is still the case. Newly, for example, an advertisement may appear in the Google Maps iPhone application.
It's not an ad that will significantly disturb your life, but I was surprised by the news anyway. So if you search for a term in Google Maps, sponsored links may appear. Instead of a classic red pin, they are highlighted with a special icon (e.g. with a company logo) and in the list of searched places they are highlighted with a yellow background.
I think that the support of these special icons must be supported in the iPhone OS, so it was more of an agreement. Whether it is a new function of iPhone OS 3.1 or whether Google had the opportunity to introduce sponsored lines a long time ago, it is difficult to say. Anyway, this news came just after it was leaked to the public that Apple bought Placebase, a Google Maps competitor.

In any case, forced advertising is a springboard, but that springboard can also be tastefully and sensitively incorporated and presented - then it can also be digested .. to make yourself known, I understand that, even though most advertising efforts have a counterproductive effect for me, something like that " it's good that I know about you and I will definitely not take anything from you if you present yourself so demented".. However, the world according to Google can still be tried in this regard - an advertising banner flashing frantically in the header of these otherwise high-quality pages can be tried worse, i.e. unfortunately, real total suspension - how much for it? I wouldn't take 100K for a website update .. I might even consider an offer to update a website for 1M, I don't know how much they charge for it, but it couldn't be cheaper for me..
The advertisement for Kupto levna, which here in the column on the side is trying to keep going round and round, doesn't even bother me very much. I'm currently looking for hosting, but Banán, which has started flashing frantically in the header of this page both since the beginning of the internet, and thanks to its bad advertising, even if it pays to provide hosting, unfortunately I don't want it.
So much for advertising in google maps and here in general...
jj.. it's up to each company how it presents itself, but at the same time it's also up to the owner of the page what kind of advertising to allow.. I like the design of these pages and the content, and I wouldn't mind an advertisement for a baboon or anything else reasonable, if reason had been granted.
A frame in the header in the page design would be enough. And it should be stated in it: Banan.cz contributes voluntarily to the running of these pages, for which he deserves thanks, in addition to providing high-quality services in the field of hosting, anyone who wants can look at the details here. etc. (and link).
In short, it could be done naturally, normally, sincerely, humanely and nicely. I think that the visitors of these pages are generally intelligent, reasonable people (at least it used to be like that in the mac community). However, instead of a normal approach, advertising companies think according to the motto: to juice and repeat that this is it (which is of course stupidity, suitable for idiots anyway - supported by the strangeness of advertising's imposing instructions and techniques).
It works in such a way that the advertising company thinks that the site visitor is a moron who can see everything clearly, and therefore has to launch a flashing flash mob at him to attract his attention. The opposite is true and sometimes less is more. It captivates for a moment and deters forever.
But as you say, how it presents itself is up to each company. It also tells a little about her, and what is here, associates the connection: Do primitives have dehumanized advertising? so we'll probably be a primitive company and thus the money and effort spent somehow goes out of whack... Unfortunately.
Jablickar: the advertisement for Jablickar looks ok to me. And back to the article, I also think that it must be the result of cooperation and preparation, how else would they get it into the GUI. Tepic Pedro Bananos from Venezuela
Regardless of the fact that in direct proportion to the quality of the content here, there is no place for half as bad advertising. Cili, as long as the jauvejs inserts are not flashing, everything is ok.
jj.. i.e. good, let's hope that the feedback will help them to see
But has anyone come across an advertisement on Google Maps in the Czech Republic?
