From now on, synchronizing iPhone with Google calendar and contacts is a joy. Google presented its solution today sync for iPhone and Windows Mobile phones. If you want to try it, go to the site right away m.google.com/sync. The Google solution is based on the use of the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol.

What does it mean? After setting all the necessary data, your contacts and calendars will be two-way automatic synchronization whenever you make a change on iPhone or on the web. So just add a contact on your iPhone and this contact will be automatically synced to the web using Push technology. Push is turned on in iPhone in Settings -> Fetch New Data – Push (ON).

But be careful about this synchronization and don't try anything without a backup. Google warns that you will lose all calendars and contacts in your iPhone, if you do not make a backup as advised on the website (instructions on PC x instructions on Mac). The settings in the iPhone itself are in progress in a few steps, which everyone can handle. Google allows you to synchronize up to 5 calendars, which should be enough for everyone's daily use.

This created a huge competition for MobileMe and thus the biggest advantage that people bought it for falls away. True, Push for emails is still missing, but maybe we will see that in the future. I will continue to address this topic in the coming days.
