Google previously promised the release of Google Goggles on the iPhone. Last Monday, she made that promise more clear. David Petrou, one of the main figures behind Goggles, said during the Hot Chips conference at Stanford University that the Google Goggles app will be available for iPhone users by the end of 2010.
The Goggles application works as a very intelligent search engine. In the Android version, the user pointed his phone camera at an object and the application recognized it, and added links to websites where you can buy this object, if possible. E.g. the user points the camera at the iPhone 4 and Goggles will show them links to where they can purchase the device.
Apple phones have been compatible with the Google app since the iPhone 3GS. This is thanks to the addition of autofocus, which is needed for more accurate focusing and obtaining a better image of the given object. In addition, for iPhones, the application could be more accurate, because the iPhone camera focuses by touching the display, thus the user can directly focus on the subject and thus obtain a more precise result.
Google Goggles is certainly a very interesting application that can be used not only by big fans of shopping, but also as a simple search engine for the names of various items. I'm really curious if Google will meet the deadline and how much the app will cost in the AppStore. However, we have to wait a while for that.

I don't understand why the author came to the following conviction: "In addition, for iPhones, the application could be more accurate, because the iPhone camera focuses by touching the display, so the user can directly focus on the given object and thus get a more precise result."
The opinion is probably based on ignorance of the latest platforms, in which case it is of course possible (among other things) to sharpen by marking a specific object on the display.
Please be correct and correct the appropriate passage in the article.
Not all devices that can now use the Goggles app allow you to focus directly on a certain object with your finger.
I agree, I don't really support this on older OS devices. However, this does not change the fact that, for example, together with the Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire or Nexus One, the iPhone version will offer absolutely the same result.
In any case, the announcement of Goggles for the iPhone cannot be evaluated otherwise than positively, I have missed this application on the iPhone for a long time.
Come on mate, did something bite you? Don't kick corpses!
Allergic to iPhone? :-)))
It's quite funny. I took a photo of Koruni Kavova's barcode with it on the HTC Desire and found it :D
