Until now, we've been able to play with GarageBand on Mac and iPad, now users can enjoy the music creation and editing app on iPhone and iPod touch. Apple has updated its iOS application, which is now universal and works on all devices.

Playing virtual instruments and creating digital recordings will no longer be the privilege of iPad owners. Update 1.1 that is available in the App Store, is free for current owners of GarageBand, otherwise the application costs the classic 3,99 euros.

You can run GarageBand on the following devices: iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation).

"GarageBand has been a huge success on iPad, so we think users will love it on iPhone and iPod touch as well," said Philip Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

Version 1.1 brings, among other things, custom chords and support for 3/4 and 6/8 measures, adjustable speed of instruments and quantization of recordings.
