The report came from the Financial Times, and according to its information, Belkin was bought by one of Foxconn's subsidiaries, FIT Hon Teng. According to the information published so far, the transaction should be worth 866 million dollars. The transfer should take the form of a merger, and in addition to the assets associated with the Belkin brand, the other brands that operated under Belkin will go to the new owner. In this case, it is mainly Linksys, Phyn and Wemo.

According to the press release, FIT wants to build a new product line with this acquisition, which will focus on domestic use. It should be primarily products compatible with platforms such as HomeKit, Amazon Alexa or Google Home. By purchasing Belkin, FIT also acquired more than seven hundred patents, which should significantly help with this effort.
