There was huge interest in the new iPhones this year as well, and those who did not manage to order them in advance or who will not be lucky at brick-and-mortar stores on Friday can wait a few more weeks for the new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. And we're not even talking about countries where the new Apple phones haven't even started to be sold yet. Foxconn's Chinese factory cannot handle the onslaught of orders.
Apple Monday he announced record interest in their new phones. In the first 24 hours, four million units were pre-ordered, and delivery times at Apple Online Stores in selected countries, where the new iPhones will go on sale this Friday, immediately extended up to several weeks. Now he brought the magazine Wall Street Journal information that Foxconn, the Taiwanese iPhone maker, is struggling to produce in such large volumes.
Foxconn continues to hire more workers at its largest factory in Zhengzhou, China, which now employs more than 200 people exclusively producing the new iPhones and their important components. But Foxconn, according to the WSJ, is the only supplier of the larger iPhone 6 Plus and also supplies most of the iPhone 6, so it has a problem with the production of millions of units at once, because the production of new iPhones with new technologies is not the easiest.
"We're building 140 iPhone 6 Plus and 400 iPhone 6 a day, which is our biggest performance in history, but we're still not able to meet demand," a source familiar with the Foxconn situation told the WSJ. The Taiwanese company has a worse situation this year, because last year it was the exclusive manufacturer of the iPhone 5S, but the iPhone 5C was largely taken over by the rival Pegatron.
Currently, the biggest problem is the 5,5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. For him, Foxconn is still optimizing the production lines and at the same time they are struggling with the lack of such large displays. Due to the lack of displays, the number of iPhone 6 Plus assembled every day is said to be half as much as it could be.
Currently, most new phone models have to wait 3 to 4 weeks, but we can expect that over time Foxconn will improve the production process and manage the demand better.
No matter how I count, I somehow don't understand the numbers.
About 4 million pre-orders are made in about 10 days with a reserve. It's been 8 days since the show, and speculations have been going back weeks since it started production.
So where do they deliver it?
Anyway, for the Czech Republic, I don't see it until sometime at the end of October, until the initial shopping fever subsides in these countries.
If I'm not mistaken, the second wave of sales is planned for the end of the year and not for October.
If I read correctly, 4 million is the order for 24 hours, it takes them 10 days to produce as you say, so after 10 days production will only start for those people who ordered the next day (within 48 hours) and it will run for several days and so on and so on. so on. You only have orders for the first 24 hours in your computer.
200 thousand workers? That has to be some kind of waiver, right?
We build 140 iPhone 6 Plus and 400 iPhone 6 a day, our biggest performance ever
less than a piece per worker, don't have too much power
It looks like the first batch will once again suffer from a host of childhood illnesses. I remember how I complained about the Chinese hair under the display of the iPad 2 :-) I probably won't go to the top six, but if I did, I would wait until the production process is clarified. Hello
