Many Mac owners use the Google Photos platform to store and manage their photos and videos. If you are one of these users, or if you are just considering using Google Photos, you can be inspired by our tips and tricks today.

Presentation from the album

You can easily create a slideshow from individual albums in Google Photos, so you don't have to click from one photo to the next while viewing them. To start a slideshow created from an album of your photos, first open that album. Then, in the upper part of the browser window, click on the three dots icon and in the menu that appears, finally click on Presentation.

Marking pets

Are you one of those people who constantly take pictures of their four-legged pets? Then you will surely be pleased with the fact that the Google Photos service offers the possibility to assign names to the pictures of your pets - just like people. After you name your pet in Google Photos, you'll be able to search for them, and the service will automatically find and tag them in most photos. To assign a name to a pet, click on the icon of three horizontal lines in the upper left and then select the magnifying glass icon. In the People and pets section, click on the photo of the animal you want to name, and finally, just click on Add name and enter the necessary information.

Photo archiving

Google Photos also offers easy and quick management of your photos, including archiving. If you want to move the selected images in Google Photos to the archive, click on the icon of horizontal lines at the top left and choose Tools. In the Tools tab, head to the Organize Your Library section and click Move Photos to Archive. Finally, select the images you want to archive and confirm.

Download photos from the album

Are you going to disable Google Photos but don't want to lose your photos? You can easily download individual albums from Google Photos to your computer. All you have to do is open the album you want to save in Google Photos and click the three dots icon on the bar at the top of the window. In the menu that appears, click Download All.

Preservation of privacy

Among other things, Google Photos also offers the ability to view the locations where your photos were taken. However, if you are concerned about your privacy or simply do not want to share information of this type with albums, you can simply turn off the display of locations for individual albums. Click the album you want to turn off location for, then click the three dots icon in the bar at the top of the window. In the menu that appears, click on Options and disable the Share photo location item.
