Taking photos with an iPhone: Arranging photos in albums [15. part]

The power of cell phones is that once you unbox them and fire up the camera app, you can immediately take photos and videos with them. Just aim at the scene and press the shutter, anytime and (almost) anywhere. But the result will also look like that. So it takes some thought to make your images as pleasing as possible. And from that, here is our series Taking photos with an iPhone, in which we show you everything you need. Now let's look at organizing photos in albums. 

Unless you're taking photos with a third-party app, you'll find all your photos in the Photos app. Then tap the Albums panel to see albums you've created, shared albums you've created or joined, and albums created automatically (by different apps, for example). If you use Photos on iCloud, albums are stored on iCloud. Here they are constantly updated and available on devices where you are signed in with the same Apple ID.

Create an album 

• In Photos, tap the panel Alba and then on plus symbol. 
• Specify if you want to create new album or new shared album. 
• Name the album and then tap on Impose. 
• Select photos, which you want to add to the album, and then tap Done.

Adding photos and videos to existing albums 

• Click on the tab Library at the bottom of the screen and then on Choose. 
• Click on the thumbnails photos and videos you want to add, and then tap the share symbol. 
• Swipe up and then tap the option Add to album in the action list. 
• Tap an album, to which you want to add items.

Renaming, rearranging and deleting existing albums 

• Click on the panel Alba and then the button Show all. 
• Click on Adjust and then do any of the following: 
  • Renaming: Tap the album name and enter a new name. 
  • Change of arrangement: Touch and hold an album thumbnail, then drag it to another location. 
  • Deletion: Tap the red minus symbol icon. 
• Click on Done.

You cannot delete albums that the Photos app creates for you, such as History, People, and Places.

More album work 

• Deleting photos and videos from existing albums: Tap a photo or video in the album, select the trash icon. 
• Sorting photos in albums: Tap the Albums panel, then select an album. Here, click on the three dots icon and select Sort. 
• Filtering photos in albums: Tap the Albums panel, then select an album. Here, click on the three dots symbol and then on Filter. Select the criteria by which you want to filter the photos and videos in the album, then tap Done. To remove a filter from an album, tap the three lines symbol, tap All Items, then tap Done.

is there a way to have the photo in the album but not show it in the library in the All Photos tab?

I think not, only by putting it in the Hidden album, otherwise it will always be in the All photos folder.

In my opinion, the only way to do this is to upload a new album to your mobile via iTunes. Then you will have a separate album that is not dependent on photos. It will be in the "from my mac" section. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to make the photo remain in the created album that you transferred from the photos on the phone and when you delete it in the basic photos. 🤷‍♂️

Can a photo be moved from an auto-created album to another?
