When Apple removed the popular game Fortnite from its App Store in August 2020, probably no one expected how the situation would develop further. Epic, the company behind the popular game, added its own payment system to the application, thus bypassing Apple's payment gateway and thus violating the terms of the contract. In response to the removal itself, Epic sued, with court hearings only recently beginning and on the way to the starting line for now. In any case, Fortnite could return to iOS this year, with a slight detour.

A game streaming service could be the key to bringing Fortnite back to iPhones and iPads GeForce NOW. It has been available in beta testing mode since October 2020 and allows us to play the most demanding game titles on these products as well. The computer in the cloud takes care of the calculation and processing, and only the image is sent to us. In addition, NVIDIA's director of product management has now confirmed that Fortnite could potentially appear on their platform as early as this October. Together with the team from Epic Games, they should now work on developing a touch interface for this title, which is why we will have to wait for it some Friday. According to him, games from GeForce NOW on iPhones provide the best experience when using a gamepad, but this is not the case now. More than 100 million players have already become accustomed to building, fighting and dancing to their victory through classic touch.

At the same time, NVIDIA also had problems launching its streaming service on iOS. The terms of the App Store do not allow the entry of programs that are used to launch other applications that have not passed the standard check like every app in the apple store. In any case, the developers managed to get around this through a web application that can be run directly through the Safari browser.
