Ten months ago Brno became the first Czech city, which received the so-called FlyOver in Apple Maps, i.e. an interactive 3D view of the city that you could get, for example, from a low-flying plane. Now Prague has also quietly joined Brno.
Apple continuously updates its Maps and has not yet managed to add Prague or other new places that it has processed to its official list.
FlyOver is easy to find in Maps - just find Prague or Brno and have the satellite 3D map displayed. Then you can view realistic models of Prague Castle or "fly" over Stromovka, for example. FlyOver works on iPhones, iPads, and also on Macs, where you'll also find the Maps app.
However, you still won't find, for example, information about public transport in any Czech city, which Apple is gradually adding, starting especially in the United States and China. Thus, Google Maps continues to be much more useful in this respect.
Updated 23/10/2015 13.50/XNUMX It seems that Apple has not yet officially announced the addition of FlyOver in Prague on purpose. Apparently, he is still working on the position. Prague, for example, is still does not have the 3D tag added at its dot, which signals FlyOver, and for now even the virtual aerial tour of the city does not work.
Updated 27/10/11.45. Apple has already officially confirmed the addition of FlyOver in Prague, and our capital can be found in the official list of supported cities, for example, along with Basel, Bielefeld, Hiroshima or Porto. If you don't see the virtual tour of the city together with the 3D near Prague sign, it should appear in Maps before long.
In addition to the United States and China, Apple has also expanded the feature Additional, which will show nearby restaurants, businesses, and shops in Maps. Now it also works in Australia, Canada, France and Germany.
Is it possible for me or Brno to zoom to 10m, but Prague only zooms to 50m? Like good, but the approximation could be better...
So far it is. Apparently, Apple is still working on FlyOver for Prague and it is not the final version.
good point. Prague in its current state is processed in satellite 3D in the least detail that I have seen in 3D cities.
I would like traffic info on maps in Slovakia, madari detto. Or is it a TomTom thing?
So Dolní Lomná already has it, but it doesn't have the added 3D mark yet and the virtual aerial tour doesn't work either. So, prove that I'm bullshitting. :-)
you're kidding... what can I tell you about it... in Prague, everyone can see it in 3D on a phone, tablet or Mac, but Apple hasn't published it yet, because it's apparently still in the process of debugging. But the maps in 3D are already publicly accessible and anyone who switches to it can see for themselves. There is nothing at Dolní Lomná ... not only the brands, but also the content
And I don't have that Prague brand on my iPhone or Mac. I only see it near, for example, Brno or Berlin. But neither in Prague nor in Dolní Lomná
sample facepalm :D
Well, at least someone got it :-)
flyover is a terrible thing. I like to watch the metropolises of the world in full 3D. it doesn't even work on ipad air2. beauty.
