Have you ever thought that we could control music playback without a single touch? A few years ago it was more of an idea of the authors of science fiction films, but today it is already a reality. The biggest revolution in this direction was made by Microsoft's Kinect. But now a simple program has appeared for Mac that you control using a webcam and gestures.

An interesting act with a name Flutter; it is still in alpha version. What does it handle? You can start or stop music or a movie with a simple gesture of your hand towards the webcam that is on your Mac. Nothing more, nothing less. For now, you can only use this control in iTunes and YouTube. But the condition is to use the Google Chrome browser, no others are supported at the moment.

A short demonstration video will tell you more:

My observations:

The application is only in an early version of development, so sometimes an error appears. After installation, I tried controlling YouTube. The "stop" gesture was probably not understood by the program and no response was received. However, according to discussions, more users have this problem. Then I tried controlling iTunes and was very pleasantly surprised. You can run the application almost in the dark, with only the light of your Apple computer. If the developers work and add support for other programs, such as system QuickTime or VLC, we can look forward to an interesting and effective program. Flutter has other gestures promised by the creators in the final version.
