Along with the launch of sales of the new iMac Pro, Apple today also updated all of its macOS applications for professionals, namely Final Cut Pro X, Logic Pro X, Motion and Compressor. Of course, Final Cut Pro X, the professional software for editing videos, received the biggest news, which it upgraded to version 10.4. The Motion and Compressor applications then received many common novelties. On the other hand, Logic Pro X received the smallest update.

Nový Final Cut Pro X it gets support for editing 360-degree VR videos, advanced color correction, support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos as well as for the HEVC format that Apple deployed in iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra. The program is now fully optimized for the new iMac Pro, making it possible to edit 8K videos for the first time on an Apple computer. With 360° video support, Final Cut Pro X lets you import, edit and create VR videos and view your projects in real time on a connected HTC VIVE headset with SteamVR.

Motion 5.4 gains support for 360º VR videos, following the example of Final Cut Pro X, which makes it possible to create 360-degree titles and other elements in the application, which can then be added to videos. Naturally, the new version of Motion also supports the import, playback and editing of videos in HEVC format and photos in HEIF.

compressor 4.4 now allows users to provide 360-degree video with spherical metadata. It is also now possible to export HEVC and HDR videos with the application, and it also adds a number of new options for exporting MXF files.

In addition, the new version also brings improvements to the application's performance and stability, along with a bug fix where some created projects were not compatible with macOS High Sierra.
