Although the movie Steve Jobs is in theaters too much fails, there is still a lot of fuss around him. A number of people who were related to Steve Jobs in some way commented on the film. They mostly reacted quite negatively to the film and, for example, Tim Cook called him opportunistic. Another of Jobs' acquaintances, Ed Catmull, president of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation, is behind the last interesting reaction.
The makers can't explain the story because the story is out. Steve went through turning points in his life. There were times when the way he worked with people was not good. I saw it myself when I first worked with him. But people look at the dramatic part and make a movie about it. But that's not the whole story.
This was the beginning of a more interesting and complex story, because when Jobs left Apple, he went on a path worthy of a classic hero: he wandered the wilderness, worked for NeXT, which did not work. He worked with Pixar and we didn't do well. During that time, Steve learned valuable lessons and changed. He became an empathetic person and we could all see that when Isaacson's book was written.
Nobody wants to psychoanalyze Steve, who lived. That aspect of Steve's change was completely missed. That's the real story.
Somewhat strikingly, Catmull (as well as other critics of the film, led by Tim Cook and Jony Ive) admits that he has not seen the film. But his criticism nicely sums up the reservations of people who are dissatisfied with Aaron Sorkin and Danny Boyle's story.
We'll see how potential viewers of the film react to criticism from another person close to Steve Jobs. It may well happen that Catmull's statements will be the last nails in the coffin of this picture. After this weekend he was Steve Jobs pulled from another two hundred US theaters when it grossed just $81 during its run. For comparison, it is worth mentioning that the new film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 grossed over $101 million in America over the weekend.
I saw it, I liked it and I don't understand the clamor around it.. after all, it's just a movie. :)
That's simple. A couple of people didn't step on their toes on their way to success, and now they're chasing it. Those who stepped on their toes regularly and with gusto are offered at least a little revenge for what they went through with him in that the film shows this side of him to the public
I have seen and read a biography by Walter Issacson.
The film is filmed professionally and I was mainly surprised by Kate Winslet's performance, but I was constantly guessing. Also, the scenes that definitely happened were placed in a different environment to make it more dramatic and that detracts from the film a lot. For someone who does not know the background of Apple and it must be an indigestible goulash when it comes to the cinema.
Even so, the best movie was Pirates of Silicon Valley and then Jobs with Kutcher.
I'm not going to the cinema, I'll download it and delete it.
God, this movie is definitely better than hunger games, the trailer was enough for me…..
So I don't watch Pixar or Disney stuff, but it sure is all crap and terrible works. Wow, sometimes my mind stops.
Apologies for the OT: will you ever run the bazaar again?
