On the occasion of Monday's developer conference WWDC21, Apple revealed new operating systems. Of course, iOS 15 managed to get the most attention, which comes with a number of interesting novelties and significantly improves FaceTime. Due to the ongoing pandemic, people have stopped meeting as much, which is replaced by video calls. Because of this, probably every one of you has had the chance to say something while your microphone was turned off. Fortunately, as it now turns out, the new iOS 15 also solves these awkward moments.

While testing the first developer beta versions of magazines The Verge noticed an interesting novelty that will be appreciated by many Apple users who rely on FaceTime. The application will now alert you to the fact that you are trying to speak, but your microphone is turned off. It informs you about this through a notification, and at the same time offers to activate the microphone. Another interesting thing is that this trick is present in the beta versions of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, but not on macOS Monterey. However, since these are early developer betas, it's quite possible that the feature will arrive later.

The biggest improvement in FaceTime is certainly the SharePlay function. This allows callers to play songs from Apple Music together, watch series on  TV+, and the like. Thanks to the open API, developers of other applications can also implement the function. The giant from Cupertino already revealed during the presentation itself that this news will be available, for example, for joint viewing of live broadcasts on the Twitch.tv platform or entertaining videos on the TikTok social network.
