We could call the Apple Watch the king of the smart watch market. Although other manufacturers also offer relatively successful models, in the eyes of users, the apple variant still leads, with a substantial lead. But that could change relatively soon. According to the latest report from The Verge the giant Facebook is preparing to take the smartwatch market by storm. This company is reportedly working on its own smart watch, which should offer something that the Apple Watch is missing so far.

The first generation of smart watches from Facebook should be presented as early as next year. So far, the company has spent an incredible one billion dollars on development alone, and that's just for the debut model. At the same time, work should already be done on the second and third generations. One of the most interesting novelties should be the presence of two cameras. One should be on the side with the display, where it will be used for video calls, while the other will be on the back. It should offer a resolution of 1080p (Full HD) with an automatic focus function, thanks to which it will be possible to take the watch off the wrist at any time and film something. Facebook is already in talks with accessory makers, according to two people familiar with the project.

An earlier Apple Watch concept (Twitter):

Mark Zuckerberg himself, who is at the head of Facebook, believes that users will learn to use a smart watch in the same way as, for example, a smartphone. The watch should then offer a modified version of the Android operating system and LTE/4G connection support. As for the price, it will be around 400 dollars (just under 8,5 thousand crowns). However, this is only a rough estimate and the final amount may change.
