The new Pages Manager application from the Facebook workshop had a somewhat unconventional start, which first appeared only in the New Zealand App Store, and only almost a week later American users could also download it. Pages Manager is currently missing from the Czech App Store, we will probably see the same scenario as Facebook Messenger...

However, Facebook is continuing the trend set by its Messenger app when it tries to make the basic app a little lighter by putting some of the bigger features in a separate app. I personally approve of this step, because this way the official Facebook client seems to me rather overloaded and, moreover, it often does not work completely correctly.

Although Pages Manager is not for everyone, those who manage certain Pages on Facebook will certainly be pleased. From an already familiar environment, it is much easier to use Pages Manager to add statuses and photos to your Pages, without having to decide whether you are currently logged in as yourself or as an administrator. At launch, the application connects to the official client, so logging in is a matter of a few seconds. However, those who use another account to manage the Site will not welcome such a login method.

But in order not to speak only in superlatives, I find one huge minus in the first mentioned function - sending statuses. Unlike the official client, Pages Manager cannot deal with the attached link, which is simply a problem. For me, it was practically the only function I required from such an application, because it is not exactly easy to add a link to one of the Pages on the phone. And I believe that many other users use the links in the vast majority. So we can only hope that Facebook will remove this deficiency in one of the next updates.

But back to the positive aspects of the new application, which is traditionally available for free. Just like the official client, Pages Manager informs you about the activity on the given Page (commenting on posts) and also about who newly likes this Page. A big plus is the display of the so-called Pages Insights, i.e. the statistics of your Pages. So you immediately see how many people overall like the Page, how many people are talking about it, and everything is also displayed in a graph. In Pages Manager, you can of course manage any number of Pages, which you simply switch between in the left panel.

Even with Pages Manager, however, we do not see a native iPad version, for now the application is only available for the iPhone, moreover, currently only in the American App Store.
