While the previous days were almost uniformly in the style of deep space and groundbreaking astronomical discoveries, today is somewhat stingy with such information and news. Not that maybe SpaceX isn't going to launch some rocket into orbit again, or maybe there aren't other scientific findings, but for a change, more things have happened in the technology world itself. Again, we cannot afford not to mention Elon Musk, who continued his constant fights with politicians and was forced to move to Texas. And to make sure there are not enough cars, we also mention Uber, which sold its flying car business to an ambitious startup. Well, let's get down to it.

Elon Musk is heading to desolate Texas. California's strict politics stood in his way

It wouldn't be the legendary visionary Elon Musk, not to start some kind of bang on the political and technological scene. It is widely known that the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has been fighting with the authorities and politicians for a long time, especially because of the safety of workers, which according to Musk is in perfect condition, but statesmen have a somewhat different opinion. Because of this, the CEO was forced to close the Fremont factory, which did not please Tesla's future owners or shareholders. Fortunately, the dispute was settled, but even Musk decided to go his own way and moved to distant Texas in protest. The star of California can thus forget about the luxurious and hipster environment of Silicon Valley.

In any case, this is not the first incident. Already in May of this year, Elon Musk mentioned that he wanted to move the Tesla factories to California as soon as possible, and as he promised, he is doing so. The first Texas factory for the production of electric cars is being built near Austin. And to make matters worse, SpaceX also has facilities exclusively in Texas. Nevertheless, several operational centers remain in California, which Musk does not like very much and would like to change this fact. So all that remains is to wait, whether malice and grievance will really lead him to take this extremely decisive step, which will really shut the tip off to the Californian government. However, there is nothing to be surprised about, Musk simply wants to do things "his way".

Zuckerberg wants to invest $500 million in gender and racial equality. He is establishing a special foundation for this

Nowadays, there is quite a lot of talk about racial equality, as well as gender equality, which was far from being a matter of course until the last century. Although the technology giants are often the first to suffer when it comes to complaints about inequality, in many ways they try to balance this fact elegantly with the help of a wide variety of financial contributions and, above all, initiatives that aim to improve the environment not only for employees, but also for users. It is no different with the Chan Zuckerberg Foundation, which has set itself the goal of investing up to 5 million dollars over the next 500 years precisely in equality and solutions that will help establish it.

Specifically, it is a collaboration between Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, and his wife, Priscilla Chan. It is these two who, according to the annual letter, decided to "save the world" with the help of a large subsidy and at the same time motivate other companies to join them. In any case, it remains to be seen how this special initiative will develop and whether it will live up to expectations. After all, this is not the first such gift. Similarly, for example, the foundation invested in the development of a vaccine against the disease COVD-19, when the organization spent approximately 25 million dollars in support. We'll see if this giant keeps his word.

Uber is getting rid of its flying cars. He needs money and at the same time wants to support a promising startup

We've talked about and reported on the Uber Elevate industry countless times in the past. In practice, this is a kind of technological demo, which aims to popularize air transport and ensure new approaches to the transport of residents. After all, it's not so long ago that Uber came up with the first solution in the form of its flying "car", which did not lack an elegant design or a lot of functions. However, according to the company, it didn't quite turn out that way. Not that there isn't interest in flying cars, after all, many manufacturers and giants are working on similar projects and are competing with each other, but the problem is more financial. In addition, the company wanted to support the promising startup Joby Avionics.

There has been speculation about the purchase for some time, and we reported on it some time ago, but it was not yet clear whether Uber was serious about it or if it was just a preliminary hypothesis. But it was the first possibility that finally turned out to be correct after the fact was confirmed by CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. She mentioned that Uber will provide Joby with up to 75 million dollars for the start-up. So the question remains, what is the startup actually about and why is it so involved in VTOL vehicles. After all, the manufacturer is extremely secretive and we can only wait to see what they will come up with one day. But it's sure to be epic.
