Tim Cook has been waxing poetic about them for almost years, and now Eddy Cue, head of the iCloud and iTunes division, has joined his boss. At the ongoing Code Conference in California, he stated that this year Apple will introduce the best products he has ever seen…

"This year we have the best products I've seen in my 25 years at Apple," said Eddy Cue, who was originally scheduled to be on stage with his colleague Craig Federighi, in an interview with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher. Apple, however, shortly before the performance announced the acquisition of Beats and Cue was finally joined by Apple's new CEO, Jimmy Iovine.

Tim Cook has been talking about the new, amazing products that Apple has in the works for a long time now. Customers last in February attracted new product categories, but so far we haven't seen much from Apple this year. However, everything should start next Monday at WWDC, where the first big news is expected from the Californian company, and in the following months - at least according to Cue - even more significant projects should follow.

At the Code Conference, Eddy Cue also agreed with his boss on the acquisition of Beats, which raises a lot of questions. Tim Cook already explained why he bought the company that makes the iconic headphones and owns the music streaming service, and Cue immediately agreed. "I think what we will create together will be incredible. It doesn't matter what the Beats have done so far. It's about what Apple and Beats can create together," says Cue looking forward to the future.

When Mossberg asked why Apple didn't build its own headphones and its own music service, but had to buy Beats for three billion dollars, Cue gave a clear answer. "For us it was a matter of course, a clear thing," he commented on the three billion dollar investment, which he said was "very unique" in terms of the acquired people and technology. "It's not something that will be baked overnight. Jimmy (Iovine - editor's note) and I talked about working together for ten years."

Eddy Cue is convinced of a successful future, according to him, music as we know it today is dying and the entire industry is not growing as Apple would have imagined. Just Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre have help. "With this deal, it's not like 2 + 2 = 4. It's more like five, maybe six," says Cue, who confirmed that the Beats brand will continue to operate independently. There were "iBeats" from the audience in response, to which Cue responded with a laugh, "I've never heard that before".

The conversation then turned to television, one of the products that is much speculated about in connection with Apple. Eddy Cue confirmed that there is reason to be interested in the TV industry. “The reason so many people are interested in television in general is because the television experience is bad. But solving this problem is not easy. There are no global standards, a lot of rights issues,” Cue explained, but declined to reveal what Apple is working on. All he said was that his current TV product would not stand still. “Apple TV will evolve. I love it, I use it every day.”
