The iOS 8 operating system, which reached the devices of ordinary users last fall, brought a number of new functions, but above all, it slightly opened up the previously strictly closed devices to new possibilities. One of the most significant openings related to the expansion of the system's sharing menu, which from iOS 8 can also be used by applications from independent developers.

Dropbox, one of the most popular cloud storage applications, has finally taken advantage of this. The updated app in version 3.7 comes with “Save to Dropbox” feature. Thanks to the aforementioned sharing menu, you will come across this new feature, for example, in the Pictures application, but also in other applications where Dropbox should start to appear. In practice, this means that you will finally be able to save pictures and other files to the cloud from practically anywhere in iOS.

But Dropbox comes with one more big and useful innovation. If you now want to open a link to a file in Dropbox on your iPhone or iPad, the file will open directly in the Dropbox app. You will thus be able to view the document or media file and very easily save it to your own account of this cloud storage. Until now, such a thing was not possible and the user had to open the link first in an Internet browser.

However, this news is not part of the update to version 3.7 and will gradually reach users over the next few days. You can get the latest version of Dropbox on your iPhones and iPads download for free from the App Store.
