Adam Kos Independent Slovenia was established in 1991 as the first of the successor states of Yugoslavia. And even though it is only 47 kilometers along the Adriatic Sea, it is still a popular destination. It owes this to the cave systems, but also to the fact that four important European geographical regions meet here (Alps, Dinaric Mountains, Pannonian Basin and Mediterranean), where the highest mountain is Triglav at 2 meters.
