Adam Kos Turkey is a country located in Asia Minor and to a lesser extent in South-Eastern Europe and belongs to the oldest permanently inhabited areas in the world. It is mainly a mountainous country and narrow strips of lowlands are found only along the coasts, mainly for which tourists seek out Turkey. About a quarter of the area is at altitudes above 1200 m above sea level and less than 40% lies below 460 m above sea level. The highest mountains are located in the east, where the highest mountain of Turkey, Ararat, is located with an altitude of 5165 meters.
