While football fans can count on a load of quality content every year in the form of classic sports games and simulators, hockey fans have to be pretty desperate when it comes to video games. The NHL has been completely ignoring computers for quite some time and is only released on game consoles, and every year in rather dubious quality. However, during the current World Cup, some of you may say that you would like to try out the role of manager of a hockey team. Fortunately, we have good news for you, because the management series Franchise Hockey Manager has been released on macOS for years, and you can currently get it already in its seventh iteration.

The developers from Out of the Park Developments already have experience with such a game genre. Every year they come out with a new version of their baseball simulator Out of the Park Baseball. The attention to detail and the huge amount of data remain in the hockey brother. In Franchise Hockey Manager 7, you can choose not only from a large number of leagues and competitions, but also the exact historical moment when you want to jump into it. Is it fun to jump into the NHL in the seasons between the world wars? Not a problem.

Otherwise, you will find everything you would expect from a proper manager simulator in the game. You will manage your team over the long years and try to get it in such a form that it will collect one title after another. Unfortunately, however, Franchise Hockey Manager does not offer a full-fledged rendering of individual matches. You will only have to look at your trained charges in the form of different colored squares.
