Yesterday, Apple introduced a pair of new Apple computers. In the form of a press release, he introduced the brand new 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro and Mac mini, which have improved performance thanks to the deployment of the second generation of Apple Silicon chips. In both cases, it is a more or less common evolution in the form of better performance and efficiency. However, the so-called entry model into the world of Apple computers attracted considerable attention. Mac mini is now available not only with the basic M2 chip, but also with the professional M2 Pro.

The new Mac mini with the M2 Pro chip replaced the previously sold "high-end" configuration with an Intel processor. As users, we definitely have something to look forward to. This novelty has improved incredibly in terms of performance. But the best part is that the Mac is available at a relatively affordable price. It is available from CZK 17, or from CZK 490 for the variant with the mentioned M37 Pro chip. For the price of a basic 990″ MacBook Pro, you can get a professional device with performance to spare. Therefore, you simply cannot buy a Mac mini with an Intel processor anymore. Only one thing follows from this - Apple is already one step away from completely cutting Intel and, conversely, from a definitive transition to Apple Silicon. Still, he faces the biggest challenge of all.

Mac Pro or the final challenge

If you are among the fans of Apple, especially its computers, then you know very well that now the only thing left is the top Mac Pro. At the same time, it is certainly appropriate to mention one rather important thing. When Apple first introduced the transition from Intel processors to its own Apple Silicon solutions, it added that the entire transition would be completed within 2 years. Unfortunately, he did not meet this deadline. Although he managed to deploy new chips across almost all models, we are still waiting for the aforementioned Mac Pro. It's not that easy for him. As we mentioned above, this is the top of the range of Apple computers, aimed at the most demanding professionals. This is precisely why such a device must have unrivaled performance.

According to the available leaks and speculations, this model was supposed to be introduced several times, but in all cases it ended up happening. Of course, Apple's initial plan was to introduce it in the declared time frame, i.e. by the end of 2022. Subsequently, there was talk of moving it to January 2023. But even in this case, we are not so lucky - according to Mark Gurman, a verified reporter of the Bloomberg agency, this was the deadline was eventually cancelled. Apparently, the new model is practically within reach and should arrive this year. So Apple is only one step away from the final cut of Macs with Intel processors.

As we mentioned above, the Mac Pro is only intended for a small group of the most demanding users. Even so, it gets a lot of attention. Not only Apple fans are curious about how Apple can cope with a relatively demanding task and present its own alternative to such a powerful device, which not only equals the performance capabilities of the current Mac Pro from 2019, but also surpasses them. Mac Pro can be configured with a 28-core Intel Xeon processor, 1,5 TB of RAM, two AMD Radeon Pro W6800X Duo graphics cards with 64 GB of GDDR6 memory, up to 8 TB of SSD storage, and possibly also with an Apple Afterburner editing card. A device with such components would currently cost you more than 1,5 million crowns.
