Apple Music's promotion department has a new director. He is Brian Bumbery, who replaced Jimmy Iovine in this position. Iovine has moved on to become a consultant for Apple's streaming service.

Brian Bumbery is no stranger to the music industry. For example, he worked at Warner Bros., where he collaborated with famous names such as Metallica, Green Day, Chris Cornell or Madonna. Before joining Warner Bros. Brian Burbery was a partner at independent PR company Score Press. Here too he met famous musical performers.

In 2011, Bumbery founded his own company, BB Gun Press. It is currently headed by Bumbery's former colleague from Warner Bros. Luke Burland. Bumbery's arrival at the helm of the promotion section of Apple Music is not the only change that has taken place at the service recently. In April of this year, Oliver Schusser was appointed director of Apple Music. He originally worked at Apple, for example, with iTunes, iBooks, or the Podcasty service.

Over the course of this summer, Apple Music managed to become the most popular paid music streaming service in the United States — at least according to reports from Digital Music News. If this information were true, it would be the first time that the apple company managed to beat rival Spotify in this position - but other sources, on the other hand, say that Apple Music will not be able to beat Spotify for several months. Recently, there was news on Twitter that Apple Music has managed to pass the 40 million paying listeners mark. The news comes just weeks after Eddy Cue publicly announced that he had 38 million paying listeners.
