James Bell, the former financial and corporate director of Boeing, will sit on Apple's board of directors. "I am an avid user of Apple products and I greatly admire their sense of innovation," said Bell, who will become the eighth member of the California company's board of directors, about his new position.

Bell spent a total of 38 years at Boeing, and by the time he left, he was one of the few highest-rated African-American executives in the company's history. In addition to his many years of experience, where at Boeing, for example, he is credited with leading the company in difficult times, Bell also brings his "face" to Apple, which will support Apple's efforts for racial diversification. He will be the only African-American on the board.

The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, who also sits on the board of directors, promises that the new reinforcement will benefit him due to his rich career and is looking forward to the cooperation. "I'm sure he will make an important contribution to Apple," added Apple chairman Art Levinson to Cook. Al Gore, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, Grameen CEO Andrea Jung, former Northrop Grumman CEO Ron Sugar and BlackRock co-founder Sue Wagner also sit on the board next to him.
