After fourteen years as Apple's senior director of global corporate communications, Natalie Kerris announced on Twitter that she is leaving the company. Her end comes just a few days after the role of head of the entire PR department acquired her colleague Steve Dowling.

For many years at Apple, Kerris oversaw PR during the launch of many products from iPhones and iPads to iTunes and MacBook Airs to iPods, she also helped with marketing at the launch of Apple Pay and the Apple Watch.

"After 14 amazing years at Apple, it's time to move on and see what other adventures life has in store for me," announced Kerris on Twitter yesterday.

While she hasn't revealed the reason for her end, the timing does hint at why Kerris made the decision. It was only at the end of last week that Steve Dowling was appointed to the position of head of the entire PR department. At the same time, it was Kerris who was supposed to be his main opponent in the fight for the vacated post after last year leaving Katie Cotton.

So the connection to Dowling's promotion is not officially confirmed, but it is possible that the former employee of BMW, Claris, HP, Deutsche Telekom or Netscap just quit because of it.
