Last June, Apple presented the iPhone 4 at WWDC. The new generation of the Apple phone was to be sold in black and white. But the reality was different, production problems did not let the white iPhone 4 go on sale, and for ten months customers only received the black one. The long-delayed second color variant is only now available - Apple announced that the white iPhone 4 will go on sale today, on April 28. It won't miss the Czech Republic either.

In a statement, Apple announced the official start of sales, although some sources said that the white iPhone 4 was sold early in Belgium and Italy, as well as the 28 countries where the white model of the phone will visit on its first day.

In addition to the Czech Republic and, of course, the USA, the white iPhone 4 can also be enjoyed in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, the Netherlands, New Zealand , Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and England.

The price will remain unchanged, the white model will be available for the same amount as the black one. It will be offered overseas by both AT&T and Verizon.

"The white iPhone 4 is finally here and it's beautiful," gushed Philip Schiller, vice president of global product marketing. "We appreciate everyone who patiently waited while we worked out every detail."

What took Apple so long to tweak on the white iPhone, you ask? Phil Schiller admitted that the production was very challenging because it was complicated by the unexpected interaction of the white paint with several internal components. Schiller, however, in an interview for All Things Digital he didn't want to go into details. "It was difficult. It wasn't as simple as making something white." stated

The fact that Apple encountered certain problems during production is evidenced by a different proximity sensor (proximity sensor) than the one on the black iPhone 4. However, the differently designed sensor is the only element that distinguishes the white phone from its black brother. Apple also had to use significantly stronger UV protection for the white model compared to the original black.

However, as Steve Jobs noted, Apple tried to get as much as possible from the development of the white version and used the new knowledge, for example, in the production of the white iPad 2.

Will you also be able to afford a white iPhone 4, or will you be satisfied with an elegant black one?
