Handling files is one of the necessary activities when working with a computer. Each of you must move at least one file every day, whether it is a document, audio, video or other type. It's a wonder that Apple hasn't come up with some interesting system feature in the last ten years that would make this process easier and more enjoyable.

Some time ago, we brought you a review of the application yoink, which modifies the work with files and the system clipboard quite a bit. DragonDrop is a simpler app compared to Yoink, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage. It's really up to you which approach you prefer. However, DragonDrop has only just entered the Mac App Store recently. What can he do?

From the name itself, it is obvious that the application will have something to do with the method drag-and-drop (drag and drop). Dragging files with the mouse cursor, whether copying or moving, is a very simple and intuitive method, but sometimes it would be necessary to postpone the "stuck" files for a while. And this is exactly what DragonDrop can do. It serves as a sort of intermediary between the initial directory A and the final directory B.

So we have the files under the cursor, now what? The first option is to drag these files onto the icon in the menubar, which does not seem very revolutionary or efficient. A slightly more interesting method is to shake the cursor while dragging. A small window will appear in which files can be placed. Actually, they don't have to be files from the Finder at all. Virtually anything that can be grabbed with the mouse can be dragged - folders, snippets of text, web pages, images... If you decide you don't want to move anything, simply close the window.

Not everyone is comfortable with shaking the mouse or wrist on the touchpad, but DragonDrop will surely find its favorites. I like the simplicity and ease with which this application is integrated into the system. If you're not sure if DragonDrop is right for you, the developers are here to help. There is a free trial version available on their website.
