Our reader Michal V. drew our attention to this problem last night, to whom we thank him again for the information. Because he came across a potentially dangerous app (at least for your wallet) that is prominently listed in the App Store's free apps list. This is an application called Wallpapers & Backgrounds Live, which at first glance appears to be free, but in reality it is clearly not. The biggest danger lies in the fact that the application is on the 3rd place of the list of top free applications, so users might think that everything is fine with it.
As you can see in the images below, the app is available for free in the App Store with the sign of microtransactions present. As soon as you want to download the application, a classic request for purchase authorization will pop up. You simply click here, because the application is free. After a week, however, you will find out that the trial period, which is free, has expired, and from now on the application will charge you a weekly subscription of 1050 crowns! By downloading the app, you have agreed to this subscription and unless you cancel it, the aforementioned amount will be deducted from your account every week.
The subscription can be canceled in Settings, bookmark iTunes and the App Store, Apple ID -> authorization -> display and finally the bookmark Subscription. Here you can view detailed information about the subscription, as well as cancel it here. The rating of the application, which is very low, and the comments from users also indicate what kind of "fraud" it actually is. And what does the application actually offer for its small weekly subscription? Poor quality images that are freely available on the internet. If you've downloaded this app in the last few days, take this warning into account. Alternatively, inform yourself and those around you that such an application exists and, on top of everything else, it is in the TOP 3 on the list of free applications.
I think it's a little different from what you write. It didn't seem like much, so I tried to install the app. To install, you really only need to confirm the dialog, where there is nothing about the price. At the first launch, however, another dialog appears, where it is already clearly written (at least in the case of iOS 11) that in the case of confirmation, 3 days are free and then 1050/- per week.
Of course, this does not change the fact that such an application is rubbish and that something similar does not belong on the App Store.
There are many more apps like this on App Stou, but this one is damn expensive!
The internet is full of such nonsense. Various "free" content. But if the computer doesn't have a way to the bank, it doesn't matter; collapses at the latest upon the request to enter a credit card number. But the problem with the apple is that it has this path.
The main thing is that the TOP FREE application ranking is "not clinking"... it can be seen that trusting someone these days is slowly but surely becoming impossible...
Unfair practices at every corner...
This is exactly what happened to me too, only it was an even higher amount, 1,400 CZK per week. So I got scared, I won't even earn that much! I immediately canceled the subscription, even though it's still possible.
Don't you earn CZK 1400 per week and have an iPhone that is the most expensive on the market? Yeah that makes a lot of sense..
if you weren't an idiot, you'd understand what she meant
So maybe I'll read the reviews and then confirm the download if I want the app...
As you can see, iOves will eat it even with a winch. :-)
