Not always all things come to the surface during the presentation of the product, and Apple does not boast about everything right away. We have written down a few other interesting facts about yesterday's keynote for you.

  • The iPad probably has 1024MB of RAM. President of the company Epic Games Mike Capps said at the keynote that the iPad has more memory and a higher resolution than the Playstation 3 or the Xbox 360. The Xbox has 512 MB of RAM. Increasing the RAM memory is quite logical, if only because of the higher resolution and therefore greater demands on the operating memory.

  • The new iPad is slightly thicker and heavier. It is not surprising that Apple did not boast about it, however, the parameters have increased a little. The thickness has increased from 8,8 mm to 9,4 mm and the weight has increased by 22,7 g. However, despite the greater thickness, most accessories will be compatible with the new iPad, such as the Smart Cover.
  • We also find Bluetooth 4.0 in the tablet. Although Apple did not mention it, the new version of the protocol can already be found in the iPad. Bluetooth 4.0 was the first Apple product to appear in the iPhone 4S and is primarily characterized by low consumption and significantly faster pairing.
  • The front camera lens has not changed, unlike the rear iSight camera. It is still VGA resolution.
  • In iPhoto for iOS, we may see the first hint of a departure from Google Maps and the possibility of introducing its own map service. Already we wrote earlier, that Apple could leave Google Maps due to strained relations with Google due to Android, which was evidenced by the acquisition of several companies involved in the development of map materials. The source of the maps is officially unknown, although journalist Hoger Eilhard discovered that the materials are downloaded directly from Apple's servers, specifically from the address gsp2.apple.com. So it's possible that Apple will announce its own map service in iOS 6.
Update: As it turned out, these are not Apple's own map materials, but maps from the open-source OpenStreetMap.org. However, the maps aren't exactly up to date (2H 2010) and Apple didn't even bother to mention the origin of the maps.

  • The new iPad will be able to share the Internet connection with other devices as a personal hotspot via WiFi, Bluetooth or a USB cable. iPhones have the same function 3GS 4 and later. However, older iPad generations will probably not get tethering.
  • Regarding the internals of the new Apple TV, Tim Cook was relatively tight-lipped, however, inside the box beats a modified single-core Apple A5 chip, which handles 1080p video playback without any problems. He revealed this fact directly on his website in the product specification. Owners of the older 2nd generation also received the update, which will bring the change in the graphical interface that Tim Cook presented.
  • After the keynote, Phil Schiller clarified why the new iPad has no marking. He specifically said: "We don't want his name to be predictable." This is somewhat related to the secrecy that Apple is famous for. The iPad thus ranks alongside other Apple products, such as the MacBook or iMac, which are designated only by the year of release. We could call the new iPad "iPad early-2012".
  • Together with iOS, Apple also updated the terms of iTunes. What's new is the option to try a subscription for free, which publishers can add to their magazines. A few new things happened in the App Store as well. It is now possible to download applications up to 50 MB in size via mobile internet. The iPad app ranking has received a minor facelift, which does not duplicate the style of the iPhone, but offers a matrix of six apps in each category (paid and free), where you can display the next six with a horizontal swipe of your finger.
  • The iMovie update added the creation of trailers that we know from iMovie '11 for Mac. This is a ready-made concept into which you just need to insert individual images and inscriptions. The trailers also include custom music. World composers of film symphonic music are responsible for this, including Hans Zimmer, the composer of the music for K To the dark knight, The beginning, Gladiator or to Pirates of the Caribbean.
