The "bendgate" affair with Apple has been going on for several years. In the past, for example, it was an affair in connection with the bending iPhone 6 Plus, in 2018 it was again about the iPad Pro. At the time, Apple said in this regard that the bending of its tablet does not interfere with its use, and that it is nothing that users should be concerned about.

The 2018 iPad Pro reportedly only bent when a certain amount of force was applied to it, but some users reported bending even when carefully carrying the tablet in a backpack. Apple eventually proceeded to replace selected affected tablets, but many owners of slightly bent tablets did not receive compensation.

This year's iPad Pro, which Apple introduced this month, features the same aluminum chassis as its predecessor. Apparently, Apple made no effort to equip this year's iPad Pro with a more durable construction, so even this model bends easily. YouTube channel EverythingApplePro has released a video that clearly demonstrates that bending this year's iPad Pro is no problem at all. It took only a little effort to bend the tablet itself in the video, and when more pressure was applied, the tablet even broke in half and the display cracked.

Bending such expensive electronic devices is certainly not okay, regardless of whether or not it affects the functionality of the product. Apple has always stated that the design of its products is one of the main pillars for it, which contradicts the downplaying of the aforementioned bending. Tablets are mobile devices – people take them with them to work, school and on trips, so they should last a while. While Apple solved the "bendgate" affair with the iPhone 6 by creating a more durable construction for the next iPhone 6s, there was no change in construction or material for this year's iPad Pro. It's not yet certain to what extent bending is widespread in the latest iPad Pros, and the company has not commented on the video.
