I assume that during that time you have already heard something about the upcoming iCloud service from the workshop of our favorite company Apple. There was enough information, but let's put it together and add some news to it.

When and for how much?

It is not yet known when the service will be available to the general public, but it is believed that it will not be long after its announcement on Monday at WWDC 2011. However, in the meantime, the LA Times has come up with information about the prices for this service. According to available information, the price should be at the level of 25 usd/year. Before that, however, the service should be offered free of charge for an indefinite period.

Other reports talk about the possibility of iCloud functioning also in free mode, for owners of Mac OSX 10.7 Lion, but we do not know whether this mode will include all iCloud services.

The distribution of funds from this service is interesting. 70% of the profit should go to music publishers, 12% to copyright owners and the remaining 18% to Apple. So, 25 USD is divided into 17.50 + 3 + 4.50 USD per user/year.

iCloud just for music?

Although the iCloud service should primarily offer cloud music sharing, over time other media, which today are covered by the MobileMe service, should also be included. This would fit the false information that talks about iCloud as a replacement for MobileMe.

The iCloud icon

A few months ago, an OS X Lion beta tester drew attention to a mysterious icon he discovered in the system. Just a few days ago, photos from WWDC 2011 preparations confirmed that it is the iCloud icon.

As you can see, the icon clearly shows that it was created by combining icons from iDisk and iSync services.

A screenshot of the upcoming iCloud login page also "leaked" on the Internet, along with the description that it is a screenshot from Apple's internal servers. However, according to the comparison of the icon used in this screenshot with the real iCloud icons, it turned out that it is almost certainly not a real iCloud login screen.

The iCloud.com domain

Just recently it was confirmed that Apple has become the official owner of the iCloud.com domain. The estimated price is 4.5 million dollars for the purchase of this domain. In the picture you can see this contract, which shows that it was registered already in 2007.

Handling legal matters regarding iCloud in Europe

It would be a great shame if iCloud was only available in the US (as is the case now when buying music via iTunes), which Apple has duly realized and in this context has begun to arrange the necessary rights to provide the iCloud service in Europe as well. In total, the rights cover 12 different areas, including, for example, multimedia content for a fee, provision of digital music via telecommunications networks, online storage, online social networking services and others…

However true the information may be, we will verify its credibility this Monday at WWDC, which will open with Apple's Keynote at 10:00 a.m. (19:00 p.m. our time).

One more thing ...
What are you most looking forward to?
