Apple Pay has been with us for almost three quarters of a year, and during that time, nine domestic banks started supporting the service. Most of the largest banks launched Apple Pay on the first possible day, with the exception of ČSOB, which earned considerable criticism for its lack of support. But starting today, a lot is changing for clients. ČSOB is finally launching Apple Pay. Although so far only in a limited form.

It has been rumored for a long time that ČSOB is releasing Apple Pay today. The bank itself, understandably, did not want to reveal anything, although it did give some clues when it updated its conditions at the beginning of November, where it directly mentions the support of the payment service. Clients can add their ČSOB debit/credit card to their Wallet from this morning. The bank has not yet launched a section on its official website describing how to set up and use Apple Pay.

CSOB Apple Pay

An important fact is that ČSOB currently only offers Apple Pay for MasterCard cards. Clients who have Visa cards have to wait until the beginning of 2020. No support justifies ČSOB by running into technical problems that they have to fix, even though they originally planned to launch Apple Pay for both card associations at once.

The service setting itself is identical to that of all other banks. All you have to do is scan the card in the Wallet application and perform the necessary authorization via SMS. The information that a maximum of 12 cards can be added to the Wallet may also be important for some.

How to set up Apple Pay on iPhone:

ČSOB thus becomes the tenth domestic banking institution to offer Apple Pay to its customers, joining Komerční banka, Česká spořitelna, J&T Bank, AirBank, mBank, Moneta Money Bank, UniCredit Bank, Raiffeisenbank and Fio Bank. In addition to those mentioned, it also offers support for four services, namely Twisto, Edenred, Revolut and Monese.
