After the iPad Pro became popular with designers in the studios Pixar i Disney, the editors of the magazine also had the opportunity to try the new professional tablet from Apple Creative Block. The experience of these graphic designers is particularly interesting due to the fact that they tested the not-yet-officially-released iPad Pro with the latest software from Adobe. It was presented just this week, as part of the Adobe Max conference.

Creative Bloq editors tested the latest versions of Photoshop Sketch and Illustrator Draw in Los Angeles. These are applications that are fully adapted to both the iPad Pro and the special Apple Pencil stylus, and according to the impressions of the testing team, the software really worked. But the guys from Creative Bloq were really excited about the hardware, especially thanks to the unique Apple Pencil.

“Our verdict? We're as surprised as you are… But we have to say, it was the most natural stylus drawing experience we've ever experienced. The Pencil simply feels much more like drawing with a real pencil than any other stylus we've ever tried.”

The two applications that our editors tried with the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil were specifically designed to take advantage of the potential of this hardware in the form of a larger display with a higher pixel density. And that was said to be known. When the designers at Creative Bloq drew lightly across the display, they created faint lines. But when they pressed the pencil, they got thicker lines. "And the whole time, you won't feel the slightest lag, almost forgetting you're not actually using a real pencil."

Another thing that reviewers noticed was that you can shade beautifully and easily with the Apple Pencil. Just turn the electronic pen on its edge just like a real pencil. “We expected something like this to feel clumsy, but the Apple Pencil stylus once again felt surprisingly natural. This feature really elevated the drawing experience to a whole new level.”

The editors of the magazine were also taken aback by the fact that the tilt of the pen also plays a role when painting with watercolors from the Adobe workshop. The more the paint brush is tilted, the more water is applied to the canvas and the lighter the color.

Testing also showed how useful the new multitasking and the ability to work on one display simultaneously with two applications can be. Within its Creative Cloud, Adobe tries to connect its applications as much as possible, and only the possibility of working with them in parallel side by side shows what a benefit such an effort can have.

On the iPad Pro, whose display is really large, it is possible to draw with Adobe Draw on half of the display without any problems, and from the other half of the display to insert objects from curves compiled in, for example, Adobe Stock into the drawing.

So, despite initial skepticism, Creative Bloq editors agree that the iPad Pro is a truly powerful tool for professionals that can shake up the industry. According to them, Apple came up with a better stylus and Adobe came up with software that can use its potential. Everything is also helped by iOS 9 and its multitasking, which may not be talked about as much, but it is a truly pivotal innovation for the iPad and its future.
