Apple only released iOS 16.4 on Monday, which mainly brings a new set of emoticons, voice isolation for phone calls or notifications for web applications. Almost immediately, however, he released a beta version of iOS 16.5 for developers. So what else do we have to look forward to before iOS 17?

Just a day after the release of iOS 16.4, Apple released a beta version of iOS 16.5 to developers. However, as June approaches and with it WWDC, it can be expected that we have already relatively exhausted the number of novelties of the current system. Apple quite logically keeps the main thing for iOS 17. Even so, there are a few little things that iOS 16 will still get, even if they are probably not exciting.

In fact, iOS 16.5 beta 1 reveals a Siri feature that allows you to ask it to start recording the iPhone's screen. Until now you could do this manually, now you just give the voice assistance command ("Hey Siri, start screen recording"). But it is definitely not an option that we would do on a daily basis. Of course, Siri will also be able to end the recording and save it to Photos.

The second and rather unnecessary news for us is the update of the Apple News application. This should add a new My Sports tab to the title interface. With this feature, users can easily follow news from their favorite teams and leagues, as well as get up-to-date results, schedules and more. My Sports is originally part of the Today tab, and given Apple's efforts around Apple TV+ and various sports broadcasts, this is probably a logical move.

Features we haven't seen yet

Even though Apple has already released Apple Pay Later, the Apple Card Savings Account service is still waiting. Not with us, of course. We also haven't yet seen the introduction of next-generation CarPlay, contact key verification via iMessage or a custom Ease of Access mode. So these are news that may come with the following updates of the current generation of iOS. Even though Apple will introduce iOS 17 at the beginning of June, there is a lot of room for releasing other updates until the end of September. Of course, we are not talking about fixing possible errors.

After all, we now have iOS 16.4 here. However, if we look at history, especially the recent one, there have been many more decimal updates. Below you will find a list of the last versions of the systems going back years.
