Practically in all modern systems we can find countless different graphic icons that can indicate, for example, the appearance of folders, native applications, settings and many others. If you've been working on a Mac for some time now, i.e. with the macOS system, then you might have noticed something interesting about the trash. As soon as it is emptied and there are no files in it, it is displayed as completely empty even in the Dock. However, it is enough to insert even one item into it and the icon will suddenly change. Is it even possible to find out what the icon is really hiding?

In order for any icons for files or settings to be displayed at all, they must be hidden somewhere in the system itself. In this exact way, we can easily find the icon of a full trash can - we just need to know the way. So when we open the Finder, we select Open > Open Folder from the top menu bar, we just need to insert "/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources” (without quotes), thanks to which we will move to the location of the mentioned icons. Here you just need to find the file named "FullTrashIcon.icns” and use Preview to open it in full resolution. Fortunately, the image is of very good quality, thanks to which it is only necessary to zoom in a few times and the contents of the basket are practically at our fingertips.

As we can see in the mentioned image, Apple depicts a full basket in, let's say, an office style. In it, we can find crumpled papers on which there is probably a pie chart, a document marked "Monthly Total budget for each category” or Monthly budget for each category and other documents and charts. So the full basket does not hide any secrets, it just simulates a regular basket in a rather amusing way, which can be found in almost every office.

The trash can icon is the target of jokes

We can make fun of practically anything. It is therefore not surprising that this is exactly how some apple fans look at the basket icon itself, which is nothing unusual in the finale. Therefore, on the discussion forums of Apple product and Mac users, individual contributors try to come up with the funniest answer possible. While browsing the discussion, we can come across, for example, claims that the basket contains a crumpled design of the AirPower wireless charger, a brochure about new Samsung phones, or detailed plans for other revolutionary Apple devices.
