People change their iPhones at fairly regular intervals. Of course, it always depends on the specific user and his needs or preferences, but in general Apple users stick to a three- to four-year cycle - they buy a new iPhone once every 3-4 years. In such a case, they are also faced with a very fundamental decision, i.e. which of the available models to actually choose. Let's put that aside for now and let's look at the completely opposite side. What to do with an old iPhone or other Apple device? What are the options and how to get rid of it ecologically?

How to get rid of your old iPhone

In this case, several options are available. In the final, it also depends on what kind of device it is, what its condition is and what its further usability is. Let's therefore look together at ways to get rid of an old iPhone or other Apple device.

Sale

If you have a used iPhone, be sure not to throw it away. In fact, you can sell it decently and get some money back from it. In such a case, there are two ways that can be specifically used. First of all, you can act so-called on your own and advertise the device, for example, on Internet bazaars and the like, thanks to which you are in control of the entire process. So you find a buyer yourself, agree on a price and arrange the handover. However, this brings with it one important shortcoming. The entire sale can take quite a bit of time.

If you don't want to waste your time with the aforementioned advertising, looking for a buyer, and the like, then there is an advantageous alternative. A number of sellers used equipment redeems, thanks to which you can (not only) sell the iPhone practically immediately and get a fair amount for it. So this is a significantly faster process - you get the money literally immediately, which can be a huge advantage. At the same time, you have to worry about potential fraudsters and generally "waste time" over the process.

Recycling

But what if you don't plan to sell the device and would like to ensure its ecological disposal? Even in such a case, several methods are offered. You should never throw your iPhone or other Apple product in the municipal waste. Batteries are particularly problematic in this regard, as they release dangerous substances over time and thus become a possible risk. In addition, phones in general are made of some rare metals - by throwing them away you are putting a significant burden on nature and the environment.

If you would like to have your old device recycled, you will be pleased to know that it is not complicated at all. The simplest option is to throw it in the so-called red container. There are quite a few of these in the Czech Republic and they are used for collecting old batteries and small electrical equipment. In addition to the phones themselves, you can also "throw away" batteries, electronic toys, kitchen appliances, hobby tools and IT equipment here. On the contrary, monitors, televisions, fluorescent lights, car batteries, etc. do not belong here. Another option is the so-called collection yards. You will most likely find it right in your city, where you just need to install the device. Collection yards function as places for the return of (not only) electrical waste.
