It was known long in advance that Google would present its first jigsaw puzzle at its I/O conference. In the end, it really happened, even if it arouses different passions. Some criticize its appearance, others its specifications, others its price. But everything together works perhaps better than Google itself imagined. What about Apple? Still nothing.

Google has introduced the Pixel Fold, but it is not selling it yet. This is not supposed to happen until June 27. But he has already opened pre-orders for the device, and in the US it is reported to be sold out. However, the US is the home market not only of Google, but also of Apple, where it holds half of it with its iPhones. But as you can see, there is a real hunger for jigsaw puzzles here.

Artificial or genuine interest?

The Pixel Fold will officially only go to four markets (US, UK, Germany and Japan). Perhaps this also contributed to the fact that the device is so desired, since its distribution is very limited. But it could also simply be because Google can't handle complex manufacturing and its inventory can't meet demand. After all, we see this quite often with iPhones, and these are completely different numbers than in the case of Google, which in the world of mobile hardware is still fighting to at least be led as an independent brand and not just fall into the "other" or " next".

But the whole situation shows that American customers have no problem paying extra for such a device, because the Pixel Fold costs about 44 CZK. The home market should then be the main driving force that puts pressure on Apple, Europe is second only to the rest of the world. However, this is not the first time that Google managed to sell out a phone even before it went to market. His Nexuses had done it even earlier. Back then, it simply meant that Google just didn't have time to make the next few phones before they went on sale, because otherwise it was definitely not a sales hit.

However, the current situation has a positive impact on the overall puzzle market, whether Google actually presold so many or just had so few. After all, he can replenish the warehouse before the start of sales and the device can be available again. But its Pixel Fold puts it in the light of a desired device, which is exactly what you want from a new product - to be interested in it. After all, Google also supports the pre-order sales strategy of the Pixel Watch for free, a strategy it has seen from Samsung, which is certainly no stranger to this.

We are still waiting for the first Apple puzzle

Apple is now focused on the virtual and augmented reality market and probably doesn't have much time for some puzzle concepts. Let's hope he didn't bet on the wrong horse though. Even though its iPhones are still crushing the market and competing for the top spot in global sales with Samsung, the jigsaws are starting to bite off nice numbers and gain importance. So they are no longer just an experimental device, but a segment to be reckoned with.
