You can do something yourself, native tools directly on your Mac will help you with something, but some specialized applications can also do a good job. One such is CleanMyDrive 2 – a tool that will help you free up space on your external and internal drives.
CleanMyDrive 2 a disk management tool that allows you to get quick access to any disk, provides you with detailed and clear information about it, and also allows you to clean the selected disk. A big advantage of CleanMyDrive is the clear user interface, which even less experienced users can handle.
Once installed, you'll find the app icon in the menu bar at the top of your Mac screen, from where you can easily manage your drives. In addition to quickly and safely ejecting, browsing and cleaning up the mess, you can also use Drag & Drop to copy files to the displayed drives in CleanMyDrive. You can also hide selected drives in the application, or go to the Finder with a single click.
