The game Civilization probably does not need a long introduction. Few people have never heard of one of the best strategy computer games. Unfortunately, I never got to try Civilization on the computer and I didn't expect much from the iPhone version. I thought it would be difficult to prepare something so complex on the small iPhone screen without using a mouse - but I changed my mind very quickly (I've never forgotten to get off at the right stop for a game before).
In short, Civilization is a strategy game in which you as a ruler build your nation from the Bronze Age to the modern age. We can win in it in several ways: militarily, economically, culturally or scientifically - and it is up to us which option (or more) we choose. And this is precisely the greatest charm of Civilization - each game can be different depending on what strategy we come up with, what we focus on and how we deal with competing civilizations.
And now to the iPhone game itself. In the menu, we can choose whether we want to play a random map (which is essentially a "free play") or whether we want to play a certain scenario (where it is predetermined how the player should win). After that, we choose one of the five difficulties and our character (for example, we rule for the Egyptians as Cleopatra) and we can start. I must say that the difficulty is chosen so that no player will have a problem with the game - the easiest level is really very easy to win (it was almost boring), but I could last playing the hardest level for about five minutes, then my Romans were destroyed by the enemies. As for playing time, the first time I played a random map on the lowest difficulty, it took me about three hours.
Civilization is basically played on turns - when we are on a turn, we can, for example, move our army, choose which buildings will be built in the city, or which new technology we want to invent. Furthermore, it depends only on us, what strategy we will come up with and how we will win.
Unfortunately, one big beauty flaw for Czech users appeared. Civilization Revolution is not available on the Czech Appstore. I have no idea what made the authors do this, but I had to buy it with an American iTunes account. If you have the same opportunity, don't hesitate, for $4.99 this is excellent entertainment for a long time.

Civilization only worked very well on iPhone - I remembered how I played it as a teenager :-) I only miss the Civilopedia, it helped me to get through history at the gym (the first and almost the last e-learning I ever saw :-)
Nice review….. can you advise me an app with the same gamestyle as AGE of Empires if there is one. To have a free single player without the need for a campaign and average graphics :) I tried a lot but when it had one it didn't have the other :)
thank you for the advice
Civilization is not yet on the CZ version of the appstore... Otherwise, for microcz - there is nothing like AOE yet, but if you survive the single campaign, the game Rise of Lost Empires is excellent. It's reminiscent of Warcraft and controls great. And then try Warfare.
I played all of Civilizations on PC. This looks pretty interesting, I'll probably give it a shot =)
