Traveling around the world's capitals is really easy in the 21st century. You can find a ticket on the Internet, pay immediately with your credit card, pack your bags and head out into the world. In order not to get lost in it, you need a map.
Yes, iOS devices do have a built-in app Maps, but it downloads the map data from the Internet. Data roaming abroad is too expensive for most of us, so it is necessary to look for an alternative solution. One option is to rely on public WiFi hotspots, but this solution is flimsy and somewhat haphazard. The second solution is to think ahead and download the map materials in advance to your iOS device. And this is exactly what the application is for City Maps 2Go.
Downloading the map is very simple. After selecting from 175 states, an offer of cities, regions, regions or provinces will appear. For example, 28 cities, all regions and the Krkonoše National Park are available in the Czech Republic. In total, the application offers over 7200 map documents that are supplied through the project OpenStreetMap. All downloaded maps will remain stored on your device without the need to connect to the Internet later. Of course, the location on the map using GPS.
What else does the app offer? Classic pins for quick access to favorite places or searching for nearby services (hospitals, restaurants, theaters, shops, sports centers, places described in Wikipedia and others). In city maps, you can search for a specific address by street and registration number, while in regional maps only the most important points are found.
The app is temporarily priced at €0,79 and all maps can be downloaded for free. It is a universal application for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS 3.1 and above. There is also a free lite version. If you are only going to a certain city, you can look at the project on the developer's website City Gudes 2Go.

In the summer, I used it a lot on trips...an excellent helper
Now when I download the application I pay €0,79 and I can download any map for free. And when this promotion ends, do I have to pay for every other map that I didn't download in this promotion?
blase: now you pay for the application. it is downloaded to your phone via itunes and then you download individual maps on your phone. you don't pay anything for the maps now or later. only the application enabling the download and display of maps now costs two
so I checked the Czech Republic and Prague and I see that there is no navigation to the place or the distance from the stuck pin. it's a shame, there are a lot of such OpenMaps, but none of them are universally applicable. I already have at least 4 of them
I can't figure out why there is a paid version of the application for 3.1 and higher and a demo only from iOS 4 :/
BTW I just realized why the article icon is the AUKRO logo?
