Last year, Apple CEO Tim Cook made no secret of his optimistic expectations related to the sale of the "low-cost" iPhone 11. The truth is that in a number of markets this model had good prospects for success, so everyone was eagerly waiting to see how the Christmas season would turn out. In the end, it turned out that the iPhone 11 literally became a bestseller in the last quarter of last year.

But the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max didn't fare too badly in the quarter either, managing to achieve better sales figures than the iPhone XS during the same period in 2018. According to Consumer Intelligent Research Partners, iPhone 11 sales in the last quarter of last year were 39 % of all iPhone sales. Last year's iPhone XS became the second best-selling iOS device for the given period.

However, the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max also recorded a non-negligible share - both models accounted for 15%. According to Consumer Intelligent Research Partners co-founder Josh Lowitz, last year's models performed better in the fourth quarter of 2019 than the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max did in the final quarter of 2018. CIRP does not compare sales of iOS mobile devices to Android mobile devices in its report, one but it shows from earlier studies that Apple managed to dominate the (pre)Christmas sales of smartphones with an overview.

However, the data should be taken with a grain of salt - Consumer Intelligent Research Partners came to the results based on a questionnaire conducted among five hundred American consumers who purchased an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch during the given period.
