Apple today on its website, specifically in the section dedicated to AirPlay he announced, that we can look forward to the support of the latest version of AirPlay 2 in televisions from the workshops of major manufacturers - one of them is, for example, Samsung.

On the website, we can read that the new AirPlay 2 video functions will not be long in coming. When we look at the web Samsung, we learn that this year's Samsung Smart TV models will come with AirPlay support already in the spring. However, Apple indicates that AirPlay 2 support will not be exclusive to Samsung.

Similar to how speakers with AirPlay 2 support show up in the Home app, TVs with the appropriate compatibility will also get their space here and it will be possible to assign them a room. Thanks to this, it will be possible to control them as an addition to the HomeKit platform and clearly display their status in the application, as we are used to with other accessories.

Integration with the HomeKit platform also guarantees voice control via Siri, albeit to a limited extent. For example, users will be able to start a specific program on the TV in the living room through a Siri command, while AirPlay 2 will ensure that the receiver is turned on and the desired content is played, but it is not yet clear which sources will cooperate with Siri. While playing video content via AirPlay, users will be able to control playback or volume from their iOS device, either in Control Center or from the lock screen.

Making features previously exclusive to Apple TV available, users will be able to mirror and play content from iPhone, iPad and Mac connected to the same network on AirPlay 2-enabled smart TVs, without any additional accessories or apps.
