Dan Pražák It's been a while since the Swedish furniture giant IKEA started getting involved in the smart home accessories market. Initially, it offered only its own solution, but later added support for other platforms, including Apple HomeKit. Accessories from IKEA thus immediately became a more affordable alternative to accessories from Philips and others. IKEA is constantly expanding its range of smart accessories and is also adding HomeKit support for its FYRTUR and KADRILJ blinds, which you can also buy on the Czech market.
IKEA's smart blinds were supposed to offer HomeKit already last year. However, unspecified complications have slowed development, and support for the Apple platform is only coming at the beginning of 2020. Moreover, it is not yet available for all users and requires additional specifications that slightly complicate the connection with Apple products.

IKEA FYRTUR and KADRILJ smart blinds will start supporting HomeKit as soon as the user updates the firmware of the TRADFRI gateway to the new version 1.10.28. The update option is currently only available to users in the United States, but it is possible that it will soon be extended to other markets around the world. It also follows from the above that the IKEA TRADFRI gate must be connected to control the blinds, so you cannot use an alternative from, for example, Philips, which tends to be more reliable.
Integration into HomeKit mainly brings the advantage that blinds can be controlled not only via iPhone, iPad, but also via Mac, Apple Watch or HomePod. You can also use commands for Siri. The blinds can be pulled/retracted either completely or, for example, only halfway up the windows. You can also use various automations, for example, that the blinds retract/extract automatically at sunset/sunrise. They spoke in more detail about the connection of blinds with HomeKit in the magazine HomeKit Authority, where editor Jon Ratcliffe had the opportunity to try out the new feature.
Smart blinds in the Czech Republic IKEA FYRTUR sell from 3 CZK and IKEA KADRILJ from 2 CZK, while the price varies according to the dimensions. Gate TRADFRI it costs 799 CZK.
Unfortunately, the maximum offered width of the blind is quite small. :(
